Old Exchange & Provost Dungeon

Stop by The Old Exchange & Provost Dungeon, one of the most haunted buildings in Charleston. Since the late 1600s, the Exchange and Dungeon have existed in one form or another. Once a walled prison, it has been a haven for those seeking freedom as well as a dark and gruesome spot for prisoners caught on the wrong side of authority.

So my best friend traveled to SC to visit and we decided to do the Death & Depravity tour this past weekend.... what a blast! Lance was our tour guide. He has such a great sense of humor and friendly personality and was truly informed about the jaded past of many of these haunted sites through the tour. This was a relaxed, fun, ADULT historical view of the city! Thanks Lance for walking us to our parking garage area we truly appreciate your going out of your way to make sure we safely made it to our destination after the late night tour! I've already recommended the tour to a friend planning a trip soon!

Great tour at night. Will, our guide, provided us with history and entertainment regarding the seedy side of Charleston. We took the tour on the Day of the Dead, and it did not disappoint.

Me and a colleague wanted to do a ghost tour on Halloween. This tour was very entertaining. Lance was knowledgeable about the history of Charleston and made it fun. Of note there was a pearl missing from my bracelet after going to the dungeon with the jewelry stealing pirate. I was on a scooter due to an injury and Lance was very patient and understanding with me. He also told some great jokes that I will use in the future. I have now done the Charleston Shuffle!
