Old Exchange & Provost Dungeon

Stop by The Old Exchange & Provost Dungeon, one of the most haunted buildings in Charleston. Since the late 1600s, the Exchange and Dungeon have existed in one form or another. Once a walled prison, it has been a haven for those seeking freedom as well as a dark and gruesome spot for prisoners caught on the wrong side of authority.

We really enjoyed this tour with Lance! He was funny and really knowledgeable and passionate about the subject and a great story teller. I really enjoyed the stories we heard and the places we visited and got to learn about some of Charleston's darker history. It is definitely for adults and it does start late (10 pm) but it is worth it!

Lance provided the best tour of any tour I have ever been on. Not just a laundry list of fact. He was engaging, funny, and felt like we’d known him forever by the time we were 10 minutes into the tour. We loved the energy of the tour with Lance. The entire hour and a half flew by. It was a TON of fun. Promote Lance! He’s the best tour guide we’ve ever had on these types of adventures! This is called “Death and Depravity” so expect the grotesque. There is a reason this is adult only. Lots of cussing and nasty topics. We were right at home! Great job Lance. Live long and prosper my friend!

In Charleston for the eclipse on Monday. The ghost tour was a great ending. Don is an excellent guide, and kept everyone captivated with a great mix of Charleston history and haunting. A must do in Charleston
