Nice and unique experience of learning about a different facet of Charleston. Captain and crew were very helpful.

My husband and I took the 3:30 Harbor tour today. It was pouring when we boarded so most everyone headed for the lower deck. There were plenty of chairs and the Captain adjusted the volume so that it wasn't too loud, but we could all hear. He gave a nice history/description of what we were seeing. In between they had nice mellow music playing. About half way through the cruise, the rain stopped and people began moving outside. The company sent people out to dry the outside seats. It was very nice service. All in all, it was a lovely, informative afternoon. This is a small, family owned company and it showed in their concern for their customers. They also run the Schooner Pride, which I bet is wonderful. We ran out of time, or I'd do that one, too. BTW, we took DASH to the Maritime Center because it was raining. The Orange line (211) goes right there. It was easy.

No communication was sent on parking requirements or nearby construction. The office line is closed as five o'clock. The online chat option did not respond. As a result, we arrived six minutes past the seven o'clock departure time. As the boat was being untied, a man who introduced himself as Captain Jim asked why we were late, with a rude tone. Captain Jim refused to open the stairwell and allow us to board the boat. Captain Jim insisted that it's unsafe to tie back to the dock and allow us to board. We were made to feel like it was our fault for arriving late and charged for a boat tour we did not experience. We're extremely disappointed with the entire experience.

Sorry you missed the boat, but we cannot retie the vessel and reattach the boarding ramp quickly and everyone else was boarded and on time. You are to be at the boat 20-30 minutes prior to departure and you were more than five minutes late. Construction has been going on in the area for 2 years and is clearly communicated in your confirmation. Parking and walking to the boat is quite easy and no other guests had issue. See below directly from your confirmation. PLEASE NOTE Due to construction of the International African American Museum (IAAM, there is no parking at the Charleston Maritime Center. The closest parking to the Maritime Center will be in the SC Aquarium Parking Garage located at 24 Calhoun Street, just before the intersection of Concord Street. The Maritime Center is a short walk through Liberty Square along the waterfront. We highly encourage ride share through Uber or Lyft, which is readily available downtown or take a Bike Taxi. There is also a free downtown shuttle provided through Charleston Area Regional Transportation Authority (CARTA). This shuttle is called the DASH and the 210 route comes to the Aquarium. See this link for a full route schedule https://www.ridecarta.com/route/210-college-charleston-aquarium-shuttle-dash/ If you wish to utilize the DASH, there is ample parking at the Charleston Visitors Center Garage, 73 Mary Street, Charleston, SC 29403. Next door to the Visitors Center.
