There is a flat pier out to the boat and the boarding ramp is about 30 feet long. Travelers will board on the top deck and there are stairs to the lower level. Restrooms are located on the top deck.

What To Expect

Fort Sumter National Monument

While aboard the Carolina Belle your professional and licensed captain will narrate history, sights, and facts about the Charleston Harbor as you pass locations critical to United States history. You will get close-up views of the Holy City's most famous and charming sights such as Fort Sumter: One of Charleston's most popular landmarks, where the first shots of the Civil War were fired, USS Yorktown: the famous World War II “Fighting Lady," Confederate and Union army Forts Moultrie and Johnson, St. Michael’s Episcopal Church: A surviver of both the Revolutionary and Civil Wars, whose steeple was painted black so as not to be an easy target, Stately homes on the Battery: Symbols of Southern elegance and perseverance.

Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge

You will also see the Cooper River Bridges, including the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge: A state of the art span that accommodates the largest ships in the world and connects downtown Charleston to Mount Pleasant. To add to this wonderful experience, don't be surprised if you see Dolphins skimming the surface of the water and pelicans diving for food.

Had a great time and the boat ride was super nice. The crew were nice as well and shared some neat information. Would definitely recommend.

It was a really bad thunderstorm so we did not feel safe being out on the water. We were not allowed to cancel. Can’t say anything about the tour since we did not go….wish they were more receptive 🤷🏽‍♀️

Our captains constantly monitor weather and we will not go out if it is unsafe, but we do go out rain or shine. High winds or lightning storms may cause us to cancel, but this week all other vessels on the harbor were cruising as well. There was no danger in going out and thus, we did. We had many guests on board and they enjoyed the tour! We are happy to reschedule customers but we will not issue refunds simply because you decide not to attend.

A good trip for families and couples. A scenic tour around the history of the waterways around Charleston. Even though it was sprinkling, no one cared.
