Overview

Enjoy this 2.5-hour small-group boat cruise through the treasured tidal creeks of Charleston, South Carolina. This tour includes up to an hour long stop on the beautiful Morris Island, during which you can set out on foot and explore the pristine beach, collect seashells, hunt for sharks teeth, and enjoy the beautiful views of the historic lighthouse. On your way to and from the island, your naturalist captain will share information about the local ecosystems and history. Your captain will also point out and describe any wildlife seen along the journey, including Atlantic bottlenose dolphins, wading birds, pelicans, sea turtles, and much more!

Please note there is a stop at Morris Island where travelers can visit for about 45min to walk around. This may be an issue for wheelchair accessibility, however travelers have the option to remain onboard during this time if they choose.
Restrooms are available before departure. No restrooms are available for the duration of the tour.
Please arrive 15 minutes early for departure to check in with Charleston Outdoor Adventures office.

What To Expect

Charleston Outdoor Adventures

Make your way to Bowens Island for your Morris Island eco-cruise. On the water, you cruise through inlets, salt marshes, and estuaries near Folly Beach on your way to the island. Keep a lookout for marine life such as dolphins and sea turtles, as well as birds along the route. After you arrive on Morris Island, spend free time exploring independently at your own pace. See the historic Morris Island Lighthouse, go searching for shells, or just relax and take in views of the surrounding area. Your Morris Island cruise ends on the Charleston Harbor and returns to the original meeting location for drop-off.

Enjoy up to an hour of free time to explore the natural beach of Morris Island. With views of the historic lighthouse and some of the best shelling in town!

Luke was a stellar guide (fun, friendly. knowledgeable, passionate and proud about the area)! Amazing ride, sights (up close to everything)! Once on the island we had time to explore! Loved it all and definitely recommend. Would do again in a heartbeat!

The wind was ripping at least 20 knots out of the east sustained with gusts up to 30. Our guide Dallas was was awesome and managed to keep everyone dry on the trip out and back. He was very knowledgeable about the ecosystem and he enjoyed sharing his knowledge and educating the group about the low country. We saw several pods of dolphin and many species of birds. We were entertained at the lighthouse by several kite surfers. We had a group of about 18 people and Dallas called us each by name and remembered where we were from. He made the trip very enjoyable under difficult circumstances. I definitely recommend booking this trip and request Dallas. Also make sure to eat at the Bowen Island Restaurant after your cruise.
