Charleston's Hidden Alleyways & Historic Sites Small-Group Walking Tour

Overview
Explore some of Charleston's enchanting alleyways and historic sites on this small group, 2-hour walking tour. With our small group tours, you are guaranteed a more intimate and up-close experience. Charleston's alleyways are fortunately located within the popular historic district which allows us to include some well known points of interest and go a little "off the beaten path” while exploring the history and beauty of Charleston's enchanting alleyways. Generally, we include between four to six different alleyways/passages as well as popular points of interest like Rainbow Row and of course, tons of history! These pedestrian passageways are often overlooked, but walking along these cobbled paths is an opportunity to appreciate Charleston's rich history and hidden, more intimate charms.

Our guide, Captain Jim, was very knowledgeable on the history of the French Quarter. He knew all about the origin of the buildings, the efforts to preserve them and their current stories. Walking through alleys and pathways that we would never have found on our own, Jim knew everything about every building we passed. One of the best walking tours I have ever done.

My son, father and I had a great time with Captain Bob! He was so friendly, had great stories and we learned a ton. Great job working the tour to be interesting to a slew of age groups, including my 13 year old. Will definitely be recommending to friends!

This tour with Capt Jim was the highlight of our weekend in Charleston. We are so glad we did it our first day in town because it informed so much of the rest of our trip. We spent the rest of the weekend noticing historic and architectural details Jim pointed out and eating dishes and/or at restaurants he recommended.
