Our tour with Bruce was nice, but not really what we expected. Bruce is a local and clearly very well-connected within the Charleston community. I wish the tour had focused more exclusively on the history and story of Charleston, rather than a "trip down memory lane" for our guide. Personal anecdotes are okay to mix in once in a while, but not as such a prominent part of the tour content. The distance of the tour was great, and not strenuous at all - an easy, leisurely pace. The tour hit a lot of the expected highlights - Rainbow Row, the Battery, the largest personal home in Charleston, and several other beautiful homes in the historic district.

The best activity to experience Charleston! Wonder what it’s like to live here? Tour with someone who knows! 7th Generation Charlestonian Bruce gave us the most authentic walking tour covering the formation of Charleston, how the infamous Rainbow Row came to be, and the storied history of folks who lived in the iconic houses dotting picturesque streets of the downtown historic district. But it gets better. Bruce has his own stories to tell growing up roaming the very streets you’re touring and what it’s like to live like a local in one of the palatial estates along the battery.
