There wasn't anything wrong with this tour - it just wasn't all that good. The tour leader/driver had a whole line of patter that he'd obviously said 1000 times before and it just seemed a little stale. Not much actual enthusiasm for the topic. Maybe he's burnt out? Also, the tour is only the stated length if you a.) don't count the 10 minute stretch break toward the end and b.) don't get off the bus at the market instead of riding it back to the original starting place. But the ride from the market back to the original starting place is just that - a ride. No new material to speak of. In short - it wasn't a bad thumbnail tour of Charleston, and probably worth the $25, but I'm sure glad I didn't pay any more than that.

My mother and in-laws came from Virginia to visit for Spring Break. They all really wanted a tour of Charleston and with us recently moving to the area from overseas, I did my research and thought that I had found an amazing opportunity for them. My husband and I did not go on the actual tour because the tour did not allow the smaller children. However, from the start of the tour it did not go well. The bus was late, the bus arrived and then had to leave because the driver needed another bus and people there had been waiting for almost an hour for the tour bus. My mother in law is wheel chair bound and with it saying that it was handicap accessible, I did not think it was going to be a issue. However, my husband had to physically lift his mother on and off the bus because the lift did not work. People were cutting the line because of the long wait and then the tour started almost thirty minutes late. Once the tour began my mother and in-laws enjoyed. However, the unprofessionalism in regards to time management and it not being handicap accessible, I wish I could at least receive a partial refund. Overall, the tour was ok once it began. My advice is to arrive early and to have a back up plan if you are unable to access the bus.
