Waste of time. The bus is not suitable. It does not provide visibility of upper levels of buildings. It’s windows are too dirty to take pictures through. The heat kept coming on when air cooling was needed. The sound system kept getting feeds from external broadcasts. The Californian tour guide spoke too fast, did not wait for answers to questions he asked, provided incorrect information (citing a building date as 1816 when its plaque says 1818, identifying a building as an optical museum when it sign says dental museum. The tour ended at a point a long walk from the beginning.

Alan, our driver/guide was so knowledgeable of the Charleston history and had so many other tidbits to share with our group. A friend I was with showed him a picture of a single house that she’d found online in Charleston. Alan knew the house and gave us the street it was located on! We were able to find it later on one of or walking adventures in this beautiful city. A very good tour to figure out where you want to go back to later to spend more time. So happy we booked it on our first day in the city!
