Overall view of Charleston to give us an idea of the city, it was great and very informative. Walked around and the free bus was a plus to get us back to our car.

Sean was witty, friendly and seemingly serious about getting his facts right. He included lots of interesting tidbits, but I didn't get a sense of what drove the success of Charleston up to the Civil War. He said it was the third richest city in the North America thanks to blue dye, cotton and rice, but without mentioning that the slaves produced all of that wealth and the slave trade was central to the economy for its first 200 years. This needs to be brought in when pointing to the grand mansions, there thanks to slave labor. He mentioned slavery in passing when I think it must have been the central story of the city. Still, I do appreciate what it must take to be the driver and guide at the same time and he was extremely good at both.
