We were in Charlotte June 17-19th to celebrate a friend's birthday and were looking for something different to do on a Saturday night. We found the Comedy Tour on TripAdvisor and booked tickets about 10 days in advance. We have done the Big Red Bus Tours in other cities (open top, double decker city tour bus) as well as the NashTrash Tour in Nashville, TN, and always enjoyed those, so we gave this a chance.
We arrived early and were able to purchase wine & drinks to take along from the city market store. The driver did a really good job on trying to make sure friends and families were seated together. The Comedy Tour was not really what we had expected, but was still fun and we loved getting to see so much of the city, especially at night (we did the 8pm) with all the lights and people active out & about at outdoor cafes, etc. I didn't really know much at all about Charlotte, so I learned a lot about all the different areas, sections, activities, shopping centers, bars/restaurants, art areas, sporting venues, etc.
Yes, some of the jokes were kinda silly and juvenile, some were crude, but they were all in good fun and did make you laugh. Our guide was nice to answer any questions and did a good job of pointing out buildings and other landmarks. The history parts were interesting too. We stopped at the Music Factory to go into a slushie bar, but you couldn't bring your drink out, so you had to either just do jello shots or try to chug your drink down in 15 mins. We were supposed to go to Heist Brewery, but those plans were changed, I can't remember why.
I loved the "CHURCH" game and waving at people out of the bus, they were always fun and would wave and yell back.
I would say to "DO THIS" if you are in Charlotte and looking for a fun way to learn about the area. It is NOT like the Big Red Bus tours in other cities, so just keep that in mind.
