What To Expect

Funny Bus

The Funny Bus Charlotte Comedy City Tour departs at 1st Ward Park (301 E 7th St), by the Light Rail tracks. You can bring your own beer or wine, and there’s a quick break at a local bodega for more beverages or to use the restroom. Your tour guide is a local comedian and puts a comedic spin on the sights, sounds, and history as we explore all four wards of the Queen City and some of the cool-hip neighborhoods surrounding the city (South-End, NoDa, Plaza Midwood, Plaza Hills, and Historic Fourth Ward.) Please note: Due to the mature nature of the jokes on the bus, this tour is intended for adults only. Those under 16 are prohibited, and no babies or small children are allowed on the bus. If tickets are purchased for children, they will not be allowed to board, and no refund will be issued.

I liked the tour just because I enjoy someone else driving in an area I'm not familiar with while someone is pointing out the highlights. I'm also glad that it specified adult humor because it would have been uncomfortable with teenagers or children. Our guide was alright and funny at times, however if he was trying to impress me that he really liked being there with us and that he was an up and coming young comic, he failed miserably. The impression I got of him was, he was late for work 4pm, didn't have time to comb his hair morning hair and had to step off the bus to put on a company t-shirt that looked slept in. I was more impressed with James our driver who drove us around very busy crowded streets safely.

The Funny Bus is not only funny (hysterical actually), but very informative. I'm new to Charlotte so thought this would be the perfect way see the city. I was not disappointed, Once aboard, I sat back, sipped my cocktail and listened to Brent educate and amuse at the same time. Brent sure knows his history of the Queen City, but his comedic spin had us laughing the entire time. Not to mention a little bit of a drinking game, "Church" !! The tour, the comedy, the friendliness, surpassed my expectations. The Funny Bus is for anyone who even comes close to Charlotte; whether you've lived here for a while , or you're in town for the weekend. Funny Bus is a must do.
