Glad we took this tour as it was our first time there. Chef John was very knowledgeable and a bit chatty, but that's only because he is so passionate about this place. We sampled 9 different items. Dried okra, salmon, and clam chowder, our Top 3. No waiting in lines for samples. It was funny to watch the people in line look at us. We had so much fun that we went back (on our own) a second day. The flowers for sale were out of this world! Wish I could have carried a few bouquets on the plane. Would definitely recommend this tour -- our 28 year old daughter even enjoyed it! Thanks, Chef John!

Lovely walk around the market! Chef John was able to tell us about the history of not only the market, but the food we were tasting as well. Nothing like walking up to a long line at a restaurant and get our tastings right away! Nice variety of things to try. There are also no minimum numbers required, so you will never be turned away. Great energy during the visit between our guide and the vendors too! You could tell he had build relationships with the places we were seeing. Would recommend this tour at the beginning of your day at the market to get you started. I would take it again with friends!

Chef John was awesome! So entertaining and knowledgeable! He's travelled the world learning about food and was an amazing teacher. I learned so much and tasted some of the best food I've ever eaten. Pike Market is huge and very overwhelming so it's best to have a professional walk you through it. You won't regret it!
