Tours take place rain or shine and meet in a different gallery for each tour. A message with the meeting location will be sent prior to the tour.
Your tour guide is licensed by New York City's Department of Consumer Affairs as a tour guide and is a member of the International Association of Art Critics (AICA USA).
Some galleries have stairs. Please let us know in advance if you need to avoid stairs so we can make sure the itinerary is accessible.
Travelers should be able to stand and walk for two hours. Seating is usually not available.

What To Expect

Chelsea

On this 2-hour tour, you’ll visit approximately seven of the most important contemporary art gallery shows of the moment, seeing and discussing artwork in variety of media. Exhibitions change every five to six weeks, so there is always something new to see. Your itinerary will include a range of mega-galleries and smaller space showing artwork by nationally and internationally acclaimed artists.

Fantastic tour! Merrily was so prepared with background on each individual artist and additional ipad photos of past work. I loved the personal views that allowed us to really understand the art we saw. Merrily is very approachable and had a great way of asking us what we were seeing! Would absolutely do this again the next time we are in New York.

We thoroughly enjoyed this unique tour of contemporary art galleries around Chelsea. Merrily was friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating - the perfect guide! She chose a terrific selection of galleries and artists. The tour was super enjoyable and relaxed. We had lots of interesting discussions and Merrily provided all the information we needed about the artists, galleries and architecture around us. Merrily’s guidance made the art and galleries so much more accessible than if we had visited alone. Looking forward to doing this tour again when I’m next in New York!
