We took a four day weekend as the first time visit to Chicago. We booked the tour to have something to do while waiting for hotel check-in. Weather was perfect. Joe, the docent was very knowledgeable, and while I'm sure he "dumbed-down" the architecture information for the masses, we learned so much about the city and how it was planned that enabled us to enjoy the next four days much more. Book this early in your trip and you won't be disappointed. Dress warmly -- it was 65 degrees and we had two layers, even though it was sunny.

Did the 4:30pm tour, sun was setting as we went into the river. Beautiful views, great guide. Sit close to the front to be close to the sound system. Benches recline in a scary manner but it’s for optimal sky scraper views!

We loved this tour. No one way you catch it all. The history is fascinating and the actual boat was really nice. We all learned so much and loved it. The guide, Ronnie Jo was truly a talented historian.
