Holy Name Cathedral

Pass by the Holy Name Cathedral, and see the site of the 1929 St Valentine's Day Massacre, one of Chicago's most notorious murder scenes. This Prohibition-era conflict between two powerful Chicago gangs -- the South Side gang led by Al Capone and the North Side gang led by Bugs Moran -- ended in the brutal murder of seven Mob members. In addition to your comfortable, narrated drive through the city, you’ll also hop off the coach to visit some areas by foot for a more immersive experience. Your guide will offer in-depth narration as you follow the path that Chicago gangsters John Dillinger and Hymie Weiss walked right before their deaths. Hop back on the coach and return to the Near North Side to conclude your Chicago crime and gangsters tour.

This tour, by far, was one of the best bus tours I’ve been on and I do a lot. Big, comfy bus. Great guide with so much crime/history knowledge of the Chicago Crime Mob scene of both North and South Sides from prohibition until today! Made several stops where we got off the bus, to hear specific history of people, places and buildings. Harry’s Steakhouse was my favorite , as we went inside to see the highlights of the buildings history.

My husband I have done similar tours in the past, so decided to give this one a chance. We both really enjoyed the tour, including getting a good sense of the city and the stories Leah told. Enjoyed the hop off/photo ops. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the seating on the bus is very tight! I felt like the seat in front of my was right in my face.

This was a FANTASTIC tour! We had a really great time. We learned some about multiple different mobsters. It was just the right amount of information. Jae was our tour guide. She gave us the right amount of time off and on the bus. It was fun to be able to see these different locations and learn more about Chicago’s history. My teenage daughter said it was one of her favorite things we did on the trip. Highly recommend!
