The Houston Children's Museum was great! It was extremely clean, with staff constantly attending to each area and ensuring all of the pieces/parts for the attractions are in place for the next child. The areas were creative and fun for our 3 kids to try out (ages 2-13.) I was impressed by the size and variety of things to see and do.

Originally being from Houston my husband and I were excited about taking our little one to CMH. After a 2.5 hour drive we arrived at the parking garage. We realized we needed to make an emergency target run. We trying to exit the card reader was not working to pay for the 3 minutes we had been parked. I pressed the help button which connected me to a parking attendant. The sound quality was terrible and all I heard was to come to the cash pay to the right. We did and attempted to had the ticket and card to the attendant that said he could only take cash and that he had told us this before we left. I explained that I couldn’t understand him through the speaker. He repeated that we said we had cash, we did not, and then he just aggressively waved us away and bumbled under his breath. If I hadn’t bought the tickets online we wouldn’t have gone back. The actual museum itself was ok. A large area was under construction. Many of the activities were not working or did not have all the needed parts. Staff working the science station just stood there talking to each other and never even acknowledged our presence. The flow works section was a complete mess and there were no staff around to maintain the area. The ONLY area that staff appeared to really be working to make it a nice experience was in the CULTURAL GALLERY. They were making sure all the items were getting returned to the correct place to be used by the next Children. Overall we felt the cost of admission was too high for what was available and functioning.

Thank you, Jennifer, for taking the time to share your experience with us. We truly appreciate your feedback, as it helps us improve the quality of our offerings and services. We are very sorry to hear about the challenges you encountered, starting with the parking experience. The situation you described is not reflective of the level of service we strive to provide. We will address this issue with our parking management team to ensure that clear communication and efficient service are always upheld. Regarding your visit to the museum, we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by the construction and for the condition of some of the exhibits. As part of our commitment to providing a dynamic and enriching environment for families, we are undergoing upgrades to improve our facilities and experiences. We understand how frustrating it can be when areas are incomplete or not fully functional, and we will review your concerns with our operations team to address these issues promptly. We’re particularly disappointed to hear about the lack of engagement from some of our staff. This is not the standard of service we aim to provide, and we will use your feedback as a training opportunity to reinforce the importance of attentiveness and guest interaction across all areas. That said, we’re glad to hear that your experience in the Cultural Gallery stood out positively, and we will share your comments with the team working there. We deeply regret that your visit did not meet your expectations. Please know that we take your feedback seriously, and we are actively working to create a better experience for all our guests. Thank you again for bringing these matters to our attention. We hope you will give us another opportunity to provide the high-quality experience you deserve.

So many people were there, it was very diff for the kids to enjoy any part of the museum. Honestly there were too many people. Many of the water stations were not operating properly. Many of the centers were not as well
