Living in suburban Ct, I've been to NYC a million times (even worked there for 8 years!) I've done a ton of the classic NY things but was looking for something a little different to do with some out of town friends, some of whom had never been to NY. Found this tour online and really hit the jackpot. I learned long ago that it's OK to be a tourist - even if it's in your own back yard. I've done a number of pub tours in London and have loved them, so when I found Ahoy Tours Little Italy and Chinatown tour, I was intrigued. Little Italy and Chinatown are amazing on their own, but with an educated tour guide - the wonderful Alana - the experience was soooo much richer. Her knowledge and historical facts gave a depth to Little Italy and Chinatown that we couldn't possibly have found on our own. And the food was amazing. So many different types of food. and it was great. Wonderful old cheeseshops, bakeries, restaurants etc. Cheeses, canolis, eggrolls, thai food, dumplings, cupcakes. Soooo so good. And plenty of food to fill you up for the afternoon. One of my favorites was the Lychee cupcakes in Chinatown. OMG! THe best cupcake I've ever had in my life! So moist and subtle! Alana was educated and professional. A great tour! I highly recommend it to anyone and everyone!

I took a group of 11 students to NYC for a weekend and we chose this tour; it was easily the high light of our trip. Alana (our tour guide) was well informed about the food and history of Little Italy and China Town. The food itself was delicious and there was plenty for everyone. Aside from being a well planned tour, Ahoy is extremely helpful in all aspects. My group had a very tight schedule and it was our first time to the city for most of us. Ahoy worked with me to choose a start time that would accommodate our bus arrival time and they planned the tour to end in time to get us to our Broadway show. Alana even made sure we found the right subway line after the tour. I fully reccommend this tour to anyone who wants to learn about and experience Little Italy and Chinatown to their fullest. Definitley wear good shoes and bring some water. It's a full tour and worth every minute!

Our three-hour walking tour through Chinatown and Little Italy with 'Ahoy' was one that we will all remember as a highlight of our first visit to NYC.. This part of New York is:vibrant and fascinating. Our three teenagers raved about all the food we tasted, particularly the cannoli and the dumplings. My husband & I really enjoyed the background history. Despite being a little touristy, we loved the area, with its winding, cobbled, densely packed, vital, multi-cultural streets. It had such a very different flavour from the more spacious, ostentatious upper reaches of Manhattan. Thanks Alana for a memorable end to our first family holiday in New York.
