What To Expect

Chinatown

This is a two-hour historical and cultural tour of the neighborhood. We will cover approximately two miles of walking. Please wear comfortable shoes. Check the weather so you can dress accordingly. There are rest stops along the way. There are stairs at certain stops. We will be visiting the interior of several establishments.

I was born and raised on the outskirts of Chinatown. My interests were always dining and food shopping there and I had experienced a lot about Chinatown over my 60 years. I realized that much of the original history was missing. Ramona was a fantastic tour guide! She provided the insights I was missing in a friendly informative way! I would definitely recommend this tour!!!

An interesting way to see and learn about New York's Chinatown and the Chinese immigrant history of NY and the USA. Ramona, our guide, was very knowledgeable and her enthusiasm made for a great experience. Be advised that there's a lot of walking and standing but there's a lot to visit. The tour traverses some of Little Italy and we were able to appreciate how much things have changed over time, with Chinatown expanding as Asian immigrants arrived and Little Italy shrinking as Italians moved to more prosperous, less crowded neighborhoods. The visits to the Buddhist and the Taoist temples were particularly interesting, as we had never been in one before. It was my first visit to Chinatown, and I'm glad we took this tour.

Wonderful guide who gave us an intimate portrait of Chinatown and allowed us to meet people and learn history. It was well paced, not rushed. Will recommend this tour to others.
