We enjoyed the tour guide but after 2 stops with light tastings, we 2 stops with heavy tastings. The was amazing, however it was followed by a proper pie. Although delicious we were full from the previous bowl of chili grits and corn bread. The final stop at wpa bakery was just average. This was our 2nd food tour and we look forward to our next adventure.

T. I'm glad you had a good time, and I'm sorry you found it to be too much food on our tour! Many folks enjoy trying their pie and then take the rest of it home with them. Personally, I'm really proud of the fact that our tours include enough food that for many people, it's lunch AND dinner! :) - Brian

I love doing food tours, and this was my first one in the US (Rome/Paris/London/Dublin..sure, but my own home town? why would I do that!?) Well....I was missing out- Annie did a fabulous job escorting us around Church Hill on a blustery autumn afternoon. The stops were ideal (and warm!) and I got to experience a places I'd heard of but "never had the chance" to visit. Now I'm going to be making the 45 minute drive more often to check out these fabulous places. Thank you, Annie and the River City Food tours... Can't wait to join you again!

We experienced lots of interesting food, history, and fun on this Church Hill Food Tour. Our meeting point was the beautiful Richmond Vista of Libbie Hill. From there we headed to 8 & 1/2 for some delicious garlicky pizza with an amazing thin crust. We trekked to Sub Rosa which is delectable with their wood fired bakery and stone-milling operation. We sampled mouth-watering sourdough with olive oil, croissant, and chocolate au pain - all so fresh and yummy. We made our way for savory treats at Proper Pie for a flaky chicken pie and the Liberty Public House for fabulous sweet potato chili with cornbread. Our 5th and final stop was for tasty dessert treats at WPA Bakery. All along the way our delightful tour guide, Lindsey, provided interesting details about the neighborhood and its history. I highly recommend this tour. We have also participated in River City Food Tours in Carytown and the Arts District and they have all been delightful. They do a wonderful job organizing the tours and including interesting and delicious food stops.

M., I'm thrilled you enjoyed everything! Now that you've been on all three of our neighborhood food tours in Richmond, you'll have to join us in Petersburg! - Brian
