So glad we chose to do this instead of a White Pass & Yukon Route Railway shore tour! Not only was it roughly a third of the cost, but we saw just about everything the rail passengers would have seen, and were able to get out to enjoy scenic spots and have two walks. The walk in the clouds at the White Pass Summit was fantastic, as was our walk at the Gold Rush Cemetery and Reid Falls. We also enjoyed the magnificent view from the Skagway Lookout.
Our local guide was delightful. He gave us an insight into how it is to live in the town all year, not just in the brief Summer tourist season, and was a good and patient photographer as people handed their phones and cameras to him throughout the tour. It was amazing how much sightseeing and learning was packed into a three hour trip!
Highly recommend to all cruisers who want to see White Pass, learn about this town, and still have a few hours for self guided enjoyment of this fascinating town.
