Shoshone Lake
This beautiful hike has the classic mix of giant open meadows and forest of Yellowstone on the way to the shores of Lake Shoshone. Lake Shoshone is the largest backcountry lake in the lower 48 states only accessible by foot or kayak. If you are looking for a great, relaxing hike without much hiking elevation, great open meadows mixed with forest and a beautiful lake to eat an amazing lunch by, then this is a great choice.

Beautiful hike to the lake. We were grateful to have a fantastic guide, Joe, who was great company and very knowledgeable about the wildlife and the Park. We went back to do another hike with Joe later in the trip to Ribbon Lake, an unforgettable view at the end. Would highly recommend

We did the kayak tour combined with the DeLacy Creek Trail hike to Lake Shoshone, and both were wonderful! Our guide, Pat, was very knowledgeable and personable and did everything to ensure that we had a fun and safe time. The hike was on a nice trail through woods and meadows to beautiful Shoshone Lake. We recommend this hike and/or kayak combo tour to anyone wanting to explore more of Yellowstone away from the crowds.
