Overview

Clear Creek Canyon is unique in the quantity and quality of its rapids. It has more rapids than nearly any other commercially run stretch of whitewater in the nation. It is also free-flowing, meaning that the water levels change throughout the season, offering a variety of experiences. In addition to world-class rafting, it is also the home of the 1859 Gold Rush. Gold is still found in the creek by intrepid miners using pans and dredges. Guests will pass many sites of historical significance related to the Gold Rush while rafting on Clear Creek. Clear Creek is also conveniently located nearby Denver and other surrounding resorts, making it the perfect day-trip excursion.

Our experience rafting with Downstream Adventures was exceptional. We had Chaz as our guide and he gave us an adrenal filled experience down the river. Our next visit to Colorado we plan to take the advanced trip down the river and hopefully Chaz will be available to guide us.

So glad we chose Downstream Adventures. They were top notch and even accommodated a request to switch days due to weather. Russell was an awesome guide , very informative and personable. Hope to do another trip with them...

The operation is Excellent, the excitement is real and all the crew is fantastic. That being said, Yate is a great guide and probably a great person. But when you have a woman in her 60’s slightly nervous, who complains of the vest being to tight. Instead of yelling at her making a spectacle and making her feel awkward and uncomfortable for the whole trip. Handle it with kindness and or humor. When he grabbed the tops and advised me of the safety issue that it could fall off I totally understood. Safety first always. I am in customer service, for a living I sell excursions. I would NEVER be pert and talk to any one that way. We had $100 aside for tip. I definitely did not give him the whole thing, he for sure had an attitude towards me.
