Adventure through Shell Key Preserve in your 100% clear kayak! See crystal-clear water, diverse marine life, and the underwater world below your clear kayak.

You’ll paddle along mangroves, enjoy white sand beaches and sandbars, and explore a secluded beach. If the tide is high, your guide will lead the way through a hidden mangrove tunnel. Shell Key Preserve is located in Tierra Verde, FL near St. Pete Beach in the Tampa Bay area.

Keep your eyes peeled for dolphins, manatees, pelicans, crabs, and more while enjoying the preserve’s picturesque mangroves, beaches, and sandbars. Be on the lookout for a manatee or the beautiful pink Roseate Spoonbills in the summer months. White Pelicans call the sandbars of Shell Key Preserve their home during the winter months! Throughout the year, dolphins frolic in the crystal-clear waters and cormorants love to swim alongside your kayak. Chances are that you’ll see a variety of wildlife, but sightings are random and not guaranteed.

Our Tour guide Chris was phenomenal. Everyone in the family time including 6 year old. Some were first time kayakers but Chris was was kind and patient and made it inclusive throughout the excursion. Would live to try the glow tour next time. I would definitely recommend this to anyone planning a trip here and looking for something fun to do and create nice memories.

Perfect 2-hour kayak tour through the mangroves to Shell Island. Our guide Chris was wonderful. Knowledgeable, super friendly, and made the first time kayakers feel like pros. The clear kayaks were a plus and I would highly recommend. Thank you Chris for a great morning tour!

We had an awesome time! Chris was our guide, he was super friendly, and knowledgeable about all the marine life we kayaked passed. Including the horse conch snail (size of a football) which he picked out of the water to show us. Only thing to note, we didn’t get to kayak through the mangroves because of the low water level. So he recommends calling ahead of time to inquire the best time to do so. Other than that, would highly recommend.
