Established in 1999, Encounters With Dolphins has been safely providing guests the opportunity to view dolphins, learn about Clearwater and enjoy the sand and sun on Compass Island and maybe even take a dip on the island! We are a veteran owned and operated small business founded on the principal of wanting our guests to have the same experiences we would want to have on our vacation! All of us work tirelessly to ensure that all of our customers have an enjoyable, relaxing time with us!

What To Expect

Clearwater Beach

Come join us on a fun filled, narrated sightseeing tour of Clearwater’s harbor. Enjoy a relaxing ride while you learn about our abundant wildlife, and view the area’s dolphins in their natural environment. Every trip stops at Compass Island where you can collect shells, swim, snorkel and the kids can even hunt for treasure! Excursions depart from the Clearwater Beach Marina multiple times every day. Spend an hour and a half to an hour and forty five minutes with our highly trained crew in the Clearwater Harbor on board our brand new 40 foot Coast Guard inspected excursion boat. For twenty to thirty minutes during your trip, the boat will stop at Compass Island where you will have the opportunity to shell hunt through thousands of shells, swim, snorkel (gear is provided) and enjoy the island.

The family and I had a great time. Crew did a fantastic job, and we did see dolphins. It won’t let me upload video of what we saw, but I recommend this if you’re looking for a quick adventure with the kids. The price is worth it.

Favorite part was all of it! Just being out on the boat out in the Gulf of Mexico was relaxing and fun.

The staff were phenomenal! Eddy was super amazing. He was very courteous, respectful, and resourceful. Not only did he give us required info about their services, but he was also helpful in advising us on where to get convenient parking and he offered us info on where to dine upon our enquiry. Alicia was the captain whereas Shay was the first officer. These two fabulous ladies were as smart as a whip. They were knowledgeable about the tourist attractions in the area to for example, marine life and celebrity homes. They demonstrated excellent teamwork and effective communication skills. At the beginning of the tour, Alicia engaged with us to find out what our expectations were. The two of them then did their best to meet and exceed these expectations. They had a great sense of humor, were respectful, and kept time. They kept the boat very clean and adhered to safety standards. Alicia shared with us great advice on what we should do to preserve our marine life. These three made our tour memorable and we will definitely visit Clearwater Encounters with Dolphins. I give them all the STARS!
