Established in 1999, Encounters With Dolphins has been safely providing guests the opportunity to view dolphins, learn about Clearwater and enjoy the sand and sun on Compass Island and maybe even take a dip on the island! We are a veteran owned and operated small business founded on the principal of wanting our guests to have the same experiences we would want to have on our vacation! What To Expect

Clearwater Beach

Come join us on a fun filled, narrated sightseeing tour of Clearwater’s harbor. Enjoy a relaxing ride while you learn about our abundant wildlife, and view the area’s dolphins in their natural environment. Every trip stops at Compass Island where you can collect shells, swim, snorkel and the kids can even hunt for treasure! Excursions depart from the Clearwater Beach Marina multiple times every day. Spend an hour and a half to an hour and forty five minutes with our highly trained crew in the Clearwater Harbor on board our brand new 40 foot Coast Guard inspected excursion boat. For twenty to thirty minutes during your trip, the boat will stop at Compass Island where you will have the opportunity to shell hunt through thousands of shells, swim, snorkel (gear is provided) and enjoy the island.

I did a lot of research on the excursions available in the area and there are a lot! This one was perfect for our family because it was short (an hour and a half), allowed BOYB and snacks, and had a combination boat ride and shell experience. We saw 2 dolphins swimming pretty close to the boat and even saw one jump in the wake of another boat. They're so beautiful! The tour guide narrated information about other wildlife we were seeing along the way and gave some inside info about the famous houses we passed. The stop at Compass island was nice. It broke up the tour so our kiddo didn't get bored. He did a little snorkeling while I hunted for shells. All of the shells are small or broken pieces of larger shells but I still found some hidden gems and it was fun to hunt. I definitely recommend this excursion! It's a memory I know our family will remember!

Great dolphin tour and we saw so many dolphins. The crew was very informative and friendly. They recommended we eat at The Bait House if we had the chance. We went for dinner after the tour and the food was fantastic. We would also recommend that restaurant as well.
