Weight Restrictions: Due to FAA regulations, all passengers must be weighed at check-in. For each passenger weighing 240 pounds or more, or combined weights of 420 lbs per couple an additional seat must be purchased at time booking. This is for the safety and comfort of all passengers. It is important to provide accurate body weight at checkout.
It is recommend that all passengers wear dark clothing to help have less reflection in the windows when flying and therefore you can get better photos during your tour
Not wheelchair Accessible. There is no wheelchair lift to accommodate wheelchair passengers nor can the staff personally/physically assist people into the helicopter
Flight routes & sights may vary due to weather
Infants under 24 months must sit on an adult lap. PLEASE CONTACT AIR MAUI IF BRINGING AN INFANT. Over 24 months must occupy their own paid seat. We follow the same FAA regulations as the airlines

Helicopter is a shared cabin holding up to 6 passengers and one pilot.
All passenger weights MUST be advised at time of booking. Under representation of body weight may result in cancellation at check-in with no refund.

What To Expect

Air Maui Helicopter Tours

Make your way to Kahului heliport on Maui at least 30 minutes before your chosen departure time. The heliport is located at 1 Keolani Pl #110, Kahului, HI 96732.

Haleakala Crater

After a short orientation, climb into the helicopter with your private pilot and take off for a scenic, 75-minute flight over southern Maui. Be sure to have your camera ready for views of the beaches, cliffs, and jungles. Marvel at sweeping views of the dormant Haleakala volcano, then touch down at a private cliffside location. This is a great opportunity to celebrate special occasions with a loved one.

Hana

Take off again to fly over the Hana rain forest, as well as some canyons and waterfalls, before returning to the airport.

Cat was amazing as we really wanted to tour on a Thursday and she saw the demand and asked a pilot if he wanted to work that day! So we were able to go out and fly over the volcano and see Hana and the beautiful waterfalls along with a cliffside landing! Keep your hats on tight for this landing or keep in chopper! We flew out with our son and daughter-in-law and met a nice couple Brooke and Blake (I think was his name) from Alabama! Jesse was a great pilot and just happy I learned to book thru TripAdvisor as it offers the best price then if you try to book direct with Air Maui. It was a celebratory first flight for us all with honeymoon, 36th wedding anniversary, first time to the Hawaiian Islands and helicopter ride. Don't forget to take Dramamine or something if you get motion sickness/headache/naseau! Highly recommend!

Our pilot cameron was informative and kept the ride steady. It was amazing to dip down into the canyons to see the waterfalls, and fly along the coastline. What a great way to see the island. Our whole family enjoyed it!

On our honeymoon to Maui, we wanted to do a helicopter ride. We decided on this one and it could not have been better! I recommend getting there a little early and paying the upcharge for the front two seats, it’s about 50 per person and the views are much improved. Definitely worth the 100 for the two of us. It felt like a private helicopter tour! Our pilot was super nice and called us by name while explaining the island and views with some history and myths. We got to see waterfalls, the crater, sugarcane Fields, and many more sights. The cliff side landing was awesome, and no complaints at all. Definitely recommend!
