Greenwich Village Walking Tour

Overview
Join this Greenwich Village history tour led by a native New Yorker. Marc will walk you through the Greenwich Village streets of early 19th-century town houses. Stories of past residents, local history, Native American history, architecture and personal anecdotes enliven this New York City tour. Marc covers unique parts of the Village. Most tours are only 1-2 people and special interests can be accommodated.
It is easy to maintain social distancing (May 2020) for the small groups of 1-2 people. I recommend early morning walks through the almost deserted streets. It is a lovely time of year and the flowers are beautiful.

My husband and I took the Greenwich Village walking tour yesterday. We really enjoyed it. Marc the tour guide was very knowledgeable. I learned and saw areas that I had not seen before. I am from NY and been to Greenwich village many times.

The guide was not knowledgeable. Very little facts ,and rambled on stories of family living in the area . And had to look at notes reading off names .. disappointed

If you wanted more history Marc would have given it if asked. Part of the tour is to hear the history of a local.

Marc is a very friendly man with a lot of knowledge. He is very kind and passionate to his clients. However, the tour was not structured, or tailored to the interest to the participants. A few interesting facts were mentioned in between long dialogues of personal stories. I would only recommend this tour if you want to meet Marc and a new friend in New York. However, if you are visiting and want to learn about general west village history and details, I would recommend a larger, more generic tour. This tour did not meet my expectations.

Thank you for your feedback. I include personal anecdotes with history because I lived the history. Information included in the tour writeup, "Stories of past residents, local history, Native American history, architecture and personal anecdotes enliven this tour." General history alone may be obtained in any guidebook.
