Weight Restrictions: Due to FAA regulations, all passengers must be weighed at check-in. For each passenger weighing 240 pounds or more, or combined weights of 420 lbs per couple an additional seat must be purchased at time booking. This is for the safety and comfort of all passengers. It is important to provide accurate body weight at checkout.
It is recommend that all passengers wear dark clothing to help have less reflection in the windows when flying and therefore you can get better photos during your tour
Not wheelchair Accessible. There is no wheelchair lift to accommodate wheelchair passengers nor can the staff personally/physically assist people into the helicopter
Flight routes & sights may vary due to weather
Infants under 24 months must sit on an adult lap. PLEASE CONTACT AIR MAUI IF BRINGING AN INFANT. Over 24 months must occupy their own paid seat. We follow the same FAA regulations as the airlines

Helicopter is a shared cabin holding up to 6 passengers and one pilot.
All passenger weights MUST be advised at time of booking. Under representation of body weight may result in cancellation at check-in with no refund.

What To Expect

Air Maui Helicopter Tours

Make your way to Kahului heliport on Maui at least 30 minutes before your chosen departure time. The heliport is located at 1 Keolani Pl #110, Kahului, HI 96732.

Haleakala Crater

After a short orientation, climb into the helicopter with your private pilot and take off for a scenic, 75-minute flight over southern Maui. Be sure to have your camera ready for views of the beaches, cliffs, and jungles. Marvel at sweeping views of the dormant Haleakala volcano, then touch down at a private cliffside location. This is a great opportunity to celebrate special occasions with a loved one.

Hana

Take off again to fly over the Hana rain forest, as well as some canyons and waterfalls, before returning to the airport.

Cancellation Policy

For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

This morning my husband, two children (2 & 6) flew across the Haleakala volcano and the road to Hana. Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate so we weren't able to make the cliff side landing, but Air Maui refunded this portion of the trip. Great experience from start to finish - confirmation calls, booking, calls for directions - if you use Google Maps you end up at the Airport terminals and not the helipad. Leave extra time! The Air Maui hanger is the last one at the Helipad. I was impressed with how good all staff were with my two year old. Making her feel comfortable and helping her with the lifejacket. She slept for the whole flight and was upset when I unbuckled her seat belt once we landed! Great commentary from our pilot Jason and lots of good music to accompany the amazing landscape below. The only thing I would have changed would have been the weather!

We just returned from an amazing flight with Troy. The experience was far more amazing than we ever anticipated since we had already done an open cockpit on the Island of Kauai. Troy was extremely professional, extremely cautious and it was evident that he not only loves his job but takes his responsibility as a pilot seriously. The landing in the pasture on the cliff was absolutely incredible. We had time to enjoy the view, take amazing photos and learn more about the beautiful Island of Maui. Troy was very knowledged as well as personable. My husband is a retired ATC as well as a pilot and was impressed with top knotch.

We had a gorgeous day to view the East half of the island. Seeing Haleakala up close and flying along the Cliffside was awesome. Cameron tookus into some of the waterfall Canyons near Hana that were spectacular. Well worth the time and money!
