We arrived in Williamsburg around noon, traffic towards Williamsburg was bad and it took us 1.5 h to get there. Since we arrived later than anticipated we were hungry and went looking for food but only one Tavern was open and didn't take reservations anymore. No other dinning options within Colonial Williamsburg, except the little bakery. We spend $56 for a family of 4 and ended up walking around fueled by chips and muffins. No healthier food choices were available. We didn't want to waste time to search for food outside of C.W. Colonial Williamsburg is very charming, the attractions that were open were worth looking at. Unfortunately many buildings were closed. We didn't see as many costumed people as we thought there would be. My kids ( 10, 13) seemed interested but a lot of the things the actors explained were geared towards adults. I wish they would have acted out more scenes. Although there were plenty of opportunities to ask questions the concept seemed to be more like a lecture. It was informative for adults but acting a scene would have been more engaging, especially for kids. The guy who was talking in the smithy seemed really bored with questions from audience but many other "actors" were enthusiastic, friendly and answered all questions without appearing annoyed. Unvaccinated people were asked to wear masks indoors and if you ride the bus it was mandatory wear a mask for everyone. All in all I don't think we will be coming back due to high entry prices and many closed buildings. It might be better to wait until this pandemic ends. More food options need to be made available and acting out the scenes instead of "lectures" would be more engaging and make me come back.

It was only about half open. Less than 5 actor/interpreters on the streets. Deserted, felt like a ghost town. Wish I’d waited a year.

We loved walking around the town, but it seemed that a lot was closed due to Covid rules. That stuff needs to end. We enjoyed a talk given by "Mr. Jefferson", touring the Governors Mansion and the Capitol, the blacksmith shop, and other places though.
