I wish I could leave a worse rating than terrible. Just got back from colonial williamsburg. What a waste of time and money. First of all, hardly anything is open - this should be stated on their website an also when you buy a ticket for admission. Ticket price should be reduced until they are !00% open. My advice if you are planning this trip - DON'T GO!!!!

Stayed on the property which included 2 complimentary passes for the length of our stay. (2 days). I had to purchase 2 additional tickets for my children. Due to COVID, a lot of their buildings and restaurants were still closed. This was a bummer since the first night we arrived after 8pm and there were no restaurants in the area open. I'm also not sure if COVID also affected the lack of re-enactors as well. And the ones they did have, I was disappointed in their "wokeness" during their presentations. I thought they needed to stay in character (perhaps that has changed in 30 years since I went as a child). My children were bored and the lack of any historical figures walking down the streets really did not make this a trip I was hoping for them.

Be aware that many of the normal sites may be closed or only partially open (i.e. first floor only). We were there on June 23rd. The last leg of our walking tour was from Randolph House down to Botetourt, cut over to Duke of Gloucester then down to the Capitol. Randolph House was closed (you could poke your head in the buildings in the back), as were Cabinetmaker, Raleigh Tavern, Bakery, Apothecary, and Charlton's Coffee House. The map we were handed at the Visitor Center did not show these as closed. At least the Capitol was open. What was open was interesting, of course, but I couldn't help but feel we didn't quite get what we paid for.
