Bought 6 adult tickets and 3 children over 6 tickets. We were all extremely disappointed. Got to park about 12:00 not sure if everyone was out to lunch but very few of the exhibits were open. We ended up leaving after about 1-1/2 hours. Every outdoor exhibit we went to was closed and many of the buildings were roped off, all you could do was look inside the building, there was no one telling the history of the building you were looking into. There were however many souvenir stores were open. Colonial Williamsburg should let the public know it is free just to walk around. Which is basically all we did. I did spend some time talking to one of your staff members and was told that you do not have the staff to run the place the way it should be run and you can't find people willing to work. Oh, we did go into the Courthouse, Governor's house had a half hour wait in 90 degree heat. People do yourself a favor and don't waste your hard earned money on tickets when you can get the same experience for free. I was at Williamsburg about 15 years ago and really enjoyed the experience then and was trying to share that with my family. That didn't happen.

I'd been to Williamsburg as a child (60 years ago!!) and don't recall much except that it was fun. What a fascinating trip this was for us! The craftspeople and guides were so knowledgeable and seamlessly integrated information about all aspects of colonial life and all communities, including Native Americans and Black enslaved people. Learned so much. The weather was perfect so it was a pleasure to do all the walking involved. We had a wait at some places because of limitations on the number of people allowed in. We felt comfortable with the health and safety precautions given this phase of the pandemic. Williamsburg is a real treasure!

Not the Williamsburg I remember. While I understand that Covid restrictions were lifted early June in Virginia, I wished the Colonial Williamsburg website was more honest in what was offered for $34.99 (spring rate). Rather expensive for a carriage photo opportunity. After a year of Virtual School for our 10., 7. and 1. grade grandchildren we wanted to enhance their American History experience. Our enhancement was sipping old fashion root beer in a glass bottle and sweating in the 95 degree humid heat. The shoemaker was very knowledgeable and was the kitchen presentation. The carriage driver was courteous and helpful for our photo.
