Today I was very upset to hear one of your lady "actors" at the George Wythe house tying to make a modern day discussion about slavery. I do not know her name but she was a younger lady of larger size. The older ladies seemed to removed themselves from her when she was making her out of place speech. She was berating the practice of slavery in early colonial days and decided to go off on a discussion berating George Washington for his practice of slavery. I understand the Mr Washington had slaves, but history seems to indicate that he was a fair master to them. Either way we cannot fairly judge colonial days morals with a 2021 spot light. It was part of the culture of the 1800. We went to the George Wythe house expecting a discussion about the history of the house and it's owners. Instead she decided to preach a moral message about the evils of slavery in Colonial America. And proceeded to make a political speech about how "modern" day slavery existing in America today. She may have had some valid points but it had no place in this setting. I do not believe we should use Williamsburg historical tours to denigrate the first President of the United States. Our children do not need to hear about our national founders in a negative light. Sincerely, K Kohler Pennsylvania

Just went to visit Colonial Williamsburg with my two friends and we were disappointed. We paid $30 entry fee each and majority of the historic city was closed. Very few homes are open, you can take a carriage ride and that is about it. Yes there are places open to grab something to eat and the winery was open. It was a waste of our money and time. If we had known this we would not have gone. I would suggest to wait until everything opens.

We walked up and down most of the streets, trying almost every door and encountered one closed building after another. Don't waste your time or money; wait another year or two for them to reopen everything. I assume this is why they are offering the Spring discount on the tickets. They know that you'll simply be walking around an empty ghost town.
