Colonial Williamsburg = Covidstan. Charging full price for full on COVID restrictions is ridiculous. DO NOT GO until they go back to the freedom that was discussed here in the 18th century. Long waits to get into areas you may want to visit due to unnecessary and unscientific COVID measures. Still have to pay full price. This is completely not worth the $$$ spent until they realize what freedom looks like as it did in the late 1700's. The founding fathers are rolling over in their graves.

Don’t pay the admission costs and just enjoy the area with a leisurely walk. Very clean and educational but the cost of admission was a waste of our money. With Covid much is closed. And what they allow to be open are the buildings to “purchase” items. Why can a business be open in a small home but not have any admission to homes or areas that I paid full admission for?

My husband and I visited Colonial Williamsburg with our children 20 years ago. I always hoped we would return and retrace our steps from those many years ago. We were very disappointed this time. Two-thirds of the attractions were closed. I understand the need to limit group numbers when offering interior tours of historic buildings. However, there were no tradesmen/women demonstrating outdoors or in open air settings. There were a few shops open, with grossly overpriced merchandise. The visitors center was closed, as were several other ticket/information outlets. There were no restaurants or taverns open in the historic area. Again, could there have been opportunities for outdoor dining and/or beverage service? It seems that the governing body of CW has been less than creative when identifying how to maintain an authentic experience for guests over a year into the Covid pandemic. Ticket prices should have reflected the limited access to the full CW experience. Although organizers have created some new experiences to entice visitors ( ex. CW Lights), these events were an additional $20 per person. On a positive note...the Art Museum of Colonial Williamsburg was very interesting and well worth the visit.
