Normally it's a great experience, but due to covid19 regulations, half of it was closed, yet the tickets were still full price for our family of 8. Extremely expensive when there wasn't much for the kids to do. We called beforehand to ensure it was open, and they said yes assuring us it would be fun. But next time, I'm not going until everything's open.

My husband and i went this past weekend for our anniversary. The history was amazing. It was great to see original buildings and hear about the history of colonial williamsburg. We love learning about our history and this is great place to visit. We took a carriage ride which was a great experience to see the whole historic district, the carriages were sanitized between each visit. Tip: If you want to do this, book early as the rides fill up fast. Some of the performers (James Madison and some of the guides for each building) were fantastic with keeping in character as well as giving the history of the places. Masks were required in all buildings and for the most part was enforced. The buildings you could go into were amazing to see, well maintained, and beautiful. However, there were some downsides to the trip as well. Masks outside are encouraged but not required even in groups. Some of the workers were rude and clearly didn't want to be there. Where you could go was limited due to Covid, some of the buildings were closed altogether (taverns and some of the historical buildings as well as the top floor of the governors palace.) Altogether it was a nice experience and we didn't have to wait long for tour since it wasn't crowed but i would like to come back when things are fully open to get the full experience.

Make sure you take a umbrella weather is very unpredictable but the learning experience is wonderful and beautiful. We weren’t able to go in a lot of the buildings due to the COVID-19 but their are many people dress in the 1900’s attire that could explain things which was very neat. Kids love it
