This place is rich with history. You guy a bunch of history tellers who wears old time colonial outfits. They have a great place for eating and I love their portabella mushroom sandwich. The capital build was beautiful. I love to learn history. There was also a nice windmill. I love looking inside the govenors mansion and they give us a tour of both the mansion and the capital. They even demostrate a trial at an old court house. I even learned how they made books and horseshoes. went there in 2016

My husband and I visited Colonial Williamsburg during the pandemic. We had not been there before, so we had no expectations related to the sites we would see. We toured the Governor’s Palace, which was very interesting although the tour was basically just a quick walk-through of the first floor. We also were able to enter the Courthouse where a speaker told us about the legal history of Williamsburg. We toured the Capitol building as well, which was the most complete tour that we experienced. Our tour guide happened to be dressed as a carpenter because he didn’t expect to be assigned to the Capitol that day, but he was an excellent tour guide and very interesting to listen to. (I wish I could give him a shout out by name.) I would say our visit lasted about an hour and a half, which was long enough for us. If everything had been open as normal, you could easily spend a full day there. I think this would be a perfect place to visit with children, as it helps history come alive.

Visit at least once a year and they did a great job providing experiences with the pandemic restrictions. Provided new things to do since some things could not happen. Museum expansion is beautiful and trades are at the museum since some cannot happen in normal shops.
