Drove up to Williamsburg expected a lot more than we got. $44.00 to get into all exhibits of which some were closed, some only offered the interactive tour once a day. There are a ton of old buildings to see - from the outside! Many are not open to the public many of those that were open were shops or restaurants. Craftsmen in the merchants area are allowed to take a day off which is fare but no posting of who is there and who is not. Of the people in period costumes, not much information was gathered. It was more of, you are welcomed to come in and look around. The interaction at the Court House was excellent. One of the few places you got a real sense of what the period was like. Wanted to see the interaction at the court house but only done once a day at 12:30. This is fine but this information should be posted or at least given to you when you buy your ticket. If you want to see a real colonial town, Williamsburg is a must (only once). For information and history - don't miss Jamestown and Yorktown.

Wonderful opportunity to learn about and experience history. We were impressed with the knowledge of the costumed interpreters. The food establishments in Colonial Williamsburg were also a great opportunity to experience some dishes from the past. Plan to return with our grandchildren in a few years.

Bits and Bridles event was enjoyed immensely by my grandchildren, followed by a carriage ride - they loved it all.
