This trip was disappointing. Many attractions were closed. Dining was a nightmare...only 2 restaraunts were open. One was reservation only and the day before there were no open seats. The other...Chownings...the website said first come first serve. Fine so my family of 5 shows up at 12 30 expecting a wait...no problem. We are told when we arrive that they will not be taking names for seats until 3.30. What a disgrace. Is this what management wants...for families not to be able to get a meal during a visit??

COVID really killed this once great experience. So many things closed and historical interpreters just seemed to be beaten down by it all. Maybe one day the spark will return. Not worth the steep admission price this time.

Williamsburg was beautifully decorated as usual for Christmas. Not as much open, stupid Covid. The app wasn't super helpful when it came to knowing what was open and what wasn't. Even finding where to go was easier with the map from the visitor's center. Everyone was knowledgeable and helpful that we talked to. We did find there isn't much as far as food in colonial williamsburg. They used to have more at the square but it is only snacks and drinks. The bakery had a little more, but it wasn't open every day. All in all a great place to visit, especially for history buffs.
