Colonial Williamsburg at Christmas was so festive and spirited in the past. Not now. Lots of sites closed down or only partially open. Very few activities especially in the evening. Their website is difficult to navigate and compile what's scheduled when and there isn't an abundance of help in the visitors center either. The experience was disappointing. We ended up spending some unplanned, more enjoyable time in Newport News (fantastic light show at City Center) and in Virginia Beach (beach and boardwalk).

We bought the 3-day pass for Colonial Williamsburg and were there during the Christmas season. There is so much to see. Some of the things we did was to take the tour to learn how the residents made their Christmas wreaths during the 1700's. Another tour we enjoyed was the ghost tour. We were at Colonial Williamsburg the first weekend of their Christmas season and went to the illuminations at night and watched the fife and Drum Corp march and watched the fireworks. Like everywhere else, since Covid has hit, even Colonial Williamsburg has problems hiring people to have all the homes and restaurants open. There weren't any places to eat lunch in the historical area.

Totally overpriced and not worth the amount I spent for a family of 3! Staff was fantastic but the entire admission fee I feel is way more than it is worth. The return is just there in my opinion and I have great memories of Colonial Williamsburg as a kid and was hoping to give that to my daughter with such a bastion of history and our heritage as a nation and people. The admission fees need to be reduced some or the return for the price needs to increase on the experience.
