We recently visited Colonial WIlliamsburg with our family (including 3 teens). If you are interested in history or enjoying the gardens and scenery, you'll enjoy your time at Colonial Williamsburg. The interpreters did a wonderful job explaining what they were doing, how it played out in history and made things very relevant for the audience. We especially enjoyed the Bindery and Palace tour - primarily due to the interpreters working during our visit. There were several buildings we could not get into due to the long lines - there were a large number of school groups visiting that day and it made things a bit crazy trying to get from one place to another. We thoroughly enjoyed the Palace Grounds and the path around the pond. It was quiet, scenic and a great respite from the heat and crowd.

Plan to be there for at least 3-4 days so you can dig in, hear/see the programs, visit the excellent museums and talk with the people who know the history so well.
