This is my first time to do glacier cruise. The trip was on July 29th, and it was a gorgeous sunny day. The entire experience is just “Spectacular”. Every single crew member was very nice, kind and knowledgeable. The boat was very clean and new. We stayed on the outside back deck for the most of time, and there was not fuel smell at all. The captain that day did a fantastic job of explaining the area, history, animals, glacier etc. He sailed the boat very well. We didn’t feel any uncomfortable effects on the few occasions when he had to do a sudden speed change. You basically just entered a very high class journey to learn and explore the are with a crews that was very good (services, knowledge and sailing skills). All these made the glacier experience so pleasant. I definitely recommend it to anyone. I would definitely take more cruises with them in the future for sure.

From the boat, to the crew, to the captain who explained everything that we saw and Moore (the history of Valdez, the oil spill, the wildlife, the glacier, etc), this tour is fantastic. The views get better and better all the way to the Columbia Glacier which is a beauty and something you must see if you can. The tour overall was top-notch. They even gave us a lunch with bagel with cream cheese, clam chowder, and some cookies as well as coffee, lemonade and water throughout the day. Nine of that was advertised so it felt double special. We were lucky with 35 people only on the boat and a sunny day that allowed us to get very close to the ice, so the day was just 10/10!

I’m writing this review on my way back from seeing the Columbia glacier. I have to say I was very worried on our way out due to the weather. Clouds and fog were limiting visibility. The tour operators obviously have no control over the weather, but they were making the best of things by telling stories about the local environment and history. The captain definitely has a knack for engaging with the folks on board. As we got closer to Columbia glacier, we were able to see more ice, but visibility was still poor. However, the captain kept threading the ship through the ice field and all of a sudden the fog lifted and Columbia glacier was visible in all of its glory. The captain told us this was the closest she was able to get all season to the glacier. On the way back we were treated to a yummy lunch of clam chowder, with a vegetarian option also available. The crew was always friendly and gracious. The ship is wonderful with a very smooth and quiet ride. I highly recommend this trip if you find yourself in Valdez.
