Weight Restrictions: Due to FAA regulations, all passengers must be weighed at check-in. For each passenger weighing 240 pounds or more, or combined weights of 420 lbs per couple, an additional seat must be purchased at time of booking. This is for the safety and comfort of all passengers. It is important to provide accurate body weight at checkout.
It is recommend that all passengers wear dark clothing to help have less reflection in the windows when flying and therefore you can get better photos during your tour
All passenger weights MUST be advised at time of booking. Under representation of body weight may result in cancellation at check-in with no refund.
Not wheelchair accessible. There is no wheelchair lift to accommodate wheelchair passengers nor can the staff personally/physically assist people into the helicopter
Flight routes & sights may vary due to weather.
Infants under 24 months must sit on an adult lap. PLEASE CONTACT AIR MAUI IF BRINGING AN INFANT. Over 24 months must occupy their own paid seat. We follow the same FAA regulations as the airlines.

What To Expect

Air Maui Helicopter Tours

Make your way to Kahului Heliport and hop aboard a luxury, air-conditioned helicopter, which holds six passengers in forward-facing leather seats. Once you’re airborne, sit back and listen to stereo music and descriptive narration from the professional pilot, who also serves as your tour guide.

Haleakala Crater

Throughout the 1-hour flight, enjoy unobstructed views while you soar above Maui’s extreme landscapes, including the dense Hana Rainforest of East Maui. Look down on waterfalls and the jaw-dropping Haleakala Crater, a dormant volcano with a summit reaching more than 10,000 feet (3,050 meters) above sea level in Haleakala National Park.

After these sights, your flight continues to the West Maui Mountains, aka West Maui Volcano or Maui Komohana to native Hawaiians, best seen from the air. Snap photos of the diverse landscape including rugged lava flows, rainforest and deep valleys filled with cascading waterfalls such as the ‘Wall of Tears,’ a cliff draped with dozens of falls.

The operator is solid and our pilot was great, but they will take you out rain or shine and we got rain. Over $1000 for my family of four. We got clouds over Haleakala, couldn't go to Hana and limited views of the waterfalls. I fully understand that Maui Air can't control the weather but they COULD rebook when they know it's going to be a disappointment and they just took our money. To the pilot's credit he did the best he could with what the weather could offer but I'd prefer my money to the partial tour we received. I'm sure it's awesome when the weather cooperates but buyer beware. We walked away disappointed.

We all know and understand that weather is unexpected at times and it sure does rain here on the island almost every day which is normal but the last thing we want is for your family to leave so disappointed. Our pilot was very personable and helped make everyone feel at home. Loved the music he played on the tour. It was all Hawaiian or had themes from movies made in Hawaii. He was very informative and interactive during the tour. We highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting that little extra in their visit to the islands.

My husband and I booked our flight with Maui Jim. We asked around and hot the best price.Going to Worldwide travel club.The weather was perfect. This was the best way for us to see Maui .places no man can climb to.We saw the highest cliff in the World.And 3 Rainbows. So worth your time and money. We used our cell phone to video and pic.After seeing the video they film for you.We bought that too.This will be on top of our must do's on our return to Maui. Aloha
