Weight Restrictions: Due to FAA regulations, all passengers must be weighed at check-in. For each passenger weighing 240 pounds or more, or combined weights of 420 lbs per couple, an additional seat must be purchased at time of booking. This is for the safety and comfort of all passengers. It is important to provide accurate body weight at checkout.
It is recommend that all passengers wear dark clothing to help have less reflection in the windows when flying and therefore you can get better photos during your tour
All passenger weights MUST be advised at time of booking. Under representation of body weight may result in cancellation at check-in with no refund.
Not wheelchair accessible. There is no wheelchair lift to accommodate wheelchair passengers nor can the staff personally/physically assist people into the helicopter
Flight routes & sights may vary due to weather.
Infants under 24 months must sit on an adult lap. PLEASE CONTACT AIR MAUI IF BRINGING AN INFANT. Over 24 months must occupy their own paid seat. We follow the same FAA regulations as the airlines.

Helicopter is a shared cabin holding up to 6 passengers and one pilot on each tour.

What To Expect

Air Maui Helicopter Tours

Make your way to Kahului Heliport and hop aboard a luxury, air-conditioned helicopter, which holds six passengers in forward-facing leather seats. Once you’re airborne, sit back and listen to stereo music and descriptive narration from the professional pilot, who also serves as your tour guide.

Haleakala Crater

Throughout the 1-hour flight, enjoy unobstructed views while you soar above Maui’s extreme landscapes, including the dense Hana Rainforest of East Maui. Look down on waterfalls and the jaw-dropping Haleakala Crater, a dormant volcano with a summit reaching more than 10,000 feet (3,050 meters) above sea level in Haleakala National Park.

After these sights, your flight continues to the West Maui Mountains, aka West Maui Volcano or Maui Komohana to native Hawaiians, best seen from the air. Snap photos of the diverse landscape including rugged lava flows, rainforest and deep valleys filled with cascading waterfalls such as the ‘Wall of Tears,’ a cliff draped with dozens of falls.

My wife and I were really excited about going on this tour. We booked the full island tour through Air Maui and some how through the booking process our tour became scheduled for today 1/11/2019 when our honey moon stay was scheduled for 5/10/2019 - 5/15/2019. I booked through their website and even the confirmation email shows the discrepant dates. My wife and I received no confirmation phone calls from Air Maui 24 hours before until today they called and asked why we weren't already there. We explained that we're not going to be in Maui until 5/10/19, it says it on the confirmation email and that the scheduled tour date should have been 5/11/19 and that there was a mix up. At this point I'm speaking with their manager and I asked, "Doesn't it seem wierd that we would book a tour with you guys in January and the hotel stay information we gave says May?" To which she replied, "We don't care about when you are staying in the hotel, we only care about what date the website tells us for the scheduled tour." Now I'm out $644 with no amount of money back, no fun experience and our honey moon starting on a bad note 4 months before we even show up to Maui... Thanks for the amazing customer service Air Maui!!!

I do apologize about the confusion in you missing your flight but do want to clarify a bit. You booked on our website directly and the date you requested the two of you to fly was January 11, 2019 for a morning Complete Island flight. That is where we booked you and sent you a confirmation email both after you submitted the request (request came in the evening of 1/4/19 5:20pm HST and we sent a confirmation email the next morning 1/5/19 7:17am HST) as well as a reminder email the day before (1/10/19 1:20pm HST) reminding you about the flight the next day. You verbally told us you did receive these emails so there in fact was email contact on our behalf. Whether you read it or not is not our responsibility but yours in checking that everything was correct. This was a mistake that was made when you booked the flight in inputting the wrong date. We put you on the day that you requested. You received the email confirmation stating that date requested. Understanding human error our representative did offer you a 40% off if you wanted to re-book again for May as well as complimentary front seats and that offer still stands. Unfortunately the seats that were booked on the day you requested were non-refundable and considered as a no show as this discrepant date was not noticed until we were calling you wondering where you were at. Had this been caught by you when you first received the first confirmation email it could have been moved or changed being well outside the 48hr cancellation period.

Capitan Kurt truly delivered the very best views of the entire island of Maui. We thought we’d get super sick 🤢 and were all nervios to do this tour. Nobody got sick and Captain K kept things smooth and steady 🤙🏻 See epic views and things that you wouldn’t be able to see anyway else on this tour...highly recommend and ask for capitan kurt... We were fortunate to book an early a.m. flight.... even though it meant getting up 'n at 'em earlier than usual from Ka'anapali. Capt'n Kirk was entertaining, informative, and, a lot of fun .... & a great pilot ( 20,000 hrs ) with a lot of experience. As I wrote on the comment card aires flight .... awesome!
