Weight Restrictions: Due to FAA regulations, all passengers must be weighed at check-in. For each passenger weighing 240 pounds or more, or combined weights of 420 lbs per couple, an additional seat must be purchased at time of booking. This is for the safety and comfort of all passengers. It is important to provide accurate body weight at checkout.
It is recommend that all passengers wear dark clothing to help have less reflection in the windows when flying and therefore you can get better photos during your tour
All passenger weights MUST be advised at time of booking. Under representation of body weight may result in cancellation at check-in with no refund.
Not wheelchair accessible. There is no wheelchair lift to accommodate wheelchair passengers nor can the staff personally/physically assist people into the helicopter
Flight routes & sights may vary due to weather.
Infants under 24 months must sit on an adult lap. PLEASE CONTACT AIR MAUI IF BRINGING AN INFANT. Over 24 months must occupy their own paid seat. We follow the same FAA regulations as the airlines.

What To Expect

Air Maui Helicopter Tours

Make your way to Kahului Heliport and hop aboard a luxury, air-conditioned helicopter, which holds six passengers in forward-facing leather seats. Once you’re airborne, sit back and listen to stereo music and descriptive narration from the professional pilot, who also serves as your tour guide.

Haleakala Crater

Throughout the 1-hour flight, enjoy unobstructed views while you soar above Maui’s extreme landscapes, including the dense Hana Rainforest of East Maui. Look down on waterfalls and the jaw-dropping Haleakala Crater, a dormant volcano with a summit reaching more than 10,000 feet (3,050 meters) above sea level in Haleakala National Park.

After these sights, your flight continues to the West Maui Mountains, aka West Maui Volcano or Maui Komohana to native Hawaiians, best seen from the air. Snap photos of the diverse landscape including rugged lava flows, rainforest and deep valleys filled with cascading waterfalls such as the ‘Wall of Tears,’ a cliff draped with dozens of falls.

Air Maui Helicopters and their staff are awesome, period. From Kim, Janelle and the rest of the team up front and Cameron, our pilot, you can't go wrong. Safety appears to be #1 as it should be. Plus, these folks have not had an accident, something we took comfort in before heading their way for the first time. We'll be back for another bucket list flight--and then there's Maui.

Unfortunately the weather had Haleakala and Hana sides of Mau'i unsafe for the flight, their wonderful staff then offered us a full refund, or divert the trip to the West side of Mau'i and Moloka'i cliffs (tallest in the world), we of course opted to GO! Troy was our pilot and made the flight a blast, even our 11 year old had a great time! This was our first helicopter flight so we were nervous, but once we got in and lifted off, it was amazing! Troy has some moving tunes in the background of the flight which was kicked off with some Tom Petty (which we LOVE!), some Weezer, some Pink Floyd (I think) and other excellent choices, along the way Troy gave in depth info regarding the islands, the history of the Kanaka there, and the geography that we were looking at, we got so close to a waterfall that was taller than the Empire State bldg! And as he maneuvered into that waterfall valley, the tight turns had us feeling like we were Batman in the Bat-copter, it was just AWESOME! We cannot wait to take a helicopter tour again, and my 11 yr old was asking later that day if we could go back and take another one! Troy and staff, you have an EXCELLENT company, and truly made us comfortable in the entire process! We bought the trip on video (usb drive), and the family shot in front of the running chopper, if you look close at the helicopter you can see Troy throwing a shaka too! :) ENJOY!!! You will not regret this voyage!!!

Best tour we took during our entire week on the island. Just a large amount of amazing views. First time on a helicopter and enjoyed it very much. Jesse was a very cool pilot and his pick of music was perfectly selected.
