Weight Restrictions: Due to FAA regulations, all passengers must be weighed at check-in. For each passenger weighing 240 pounds or more, or combined weights of 420 lbs per couple, an additional seat must be purchased at time of booking. This is for the safety and comfort of all passengers. It is important to provide accurate body weight at checkout.
It is recommend that all passengers wear dark clothing to help have less reflection in the windows when flying and therefore you can get better photos during your tour
All passenger weights MUST be advised at time of booking. Under representation of body weight may result in cancellation at check-in with no refund.
Not wheelchair accessible. There is no wheelchair lift to accommodate wheelchair passengers nor can the staff personally/physically assist people into the helicopter
Flight routes & sights may vary due to weather.
Infants under 24 months must sit on an adult lap. PLEASE CONTACT AIR MAUI IF BRINGING AN INFANT. Over 24 months must occupy their own paid seat. We follow the same FAA regulations as the airlines.

What To Expect

Air Maui Helicopter Tours

Make your way to Kahului Heliport and hop aboard a luxury, air-conditioned helicopter, which holds six passengers in forward-facing leather seats. Once you’re airborne, sit back and listen to stereo music and descriptive narration from the professional pilot, who also serves as your tour guide.

Haleakala Crater

Throughout the 1-hour flight, enjoy unobstructed views while you soar above Maui’s extreme landscapes, including the dense Hana Rainforest of East Maui. Look down on waterfalls and the jaw-dropping Haleakala Crater, a dormant volcano with a summit reaching more than 10,000 feet (3,050 meters) above sea level in Haleakala National Park.

After these sights, your flight continues to the West Maui Mountains, aka West Maui Volcano or Maui Komohana to native Hawaiians, best seen from the air. Snap photos of the diverse landscape including rugged lava flows, rainforest and deep valleys filled with cascading waterfalls such as the ‘Wall of Tears,’ a cliff draped with dozens of falls.

This is my first time on Maui and I didn't fully appreciate the beauty and splendor it had to offer before my trip with Captain Cameron. The tour itself is breathtaking, but his commentary and even the music adds to the experience. I've never seen so many beautiful waterfalls and gorgeous cliffs in my life. I did another helicopter flight on Big Island a few years back and loved it, but I never realized what the experience could be until this flight. It was not only informative, but truly entertaining. Once started back to the hangar, most of us all felt a bit disappointed that it was over so quickly. The hour absolutely flew by. From the moment of arrival, everyone at Air Maui was so incredibly friendly and welcoming. The entire operation is professional and everyone is so kind and helpful. You are never left wondering what to do or where to go. If you're wondering what to do first on Maui, the tour with Air Maui is it. I left with so much more appreciation for what the island has to offer and realizing that I don't have nearly enough time here to take it all in.

Our first time in a helicopter and Troy was excellent in giving us a complete tour of Maui. We couldn't go to Haleakala because of weather, but his alternative route in viewing the many waterfalls was fantastic. I learned about this from Trip Advisor and I'm very happy with the experience.

Went early morning after major thunderstorm and it was cold enough that there was snow on the top of Haleakala. Amazing trip. Many waterfalls, clear day to see islands off Maui very clearly, our tour guide Cameron was really nice. We took our 6 and 4 year olds and it was fine. All around amazing experience!
