We took 2 tours actually... the Friday night fireworks and circle island sunrise. We had Gaylen (sp?) and Brian, respectively, and they both did a phenomenal job. They gave me some great pointers for my DSLR, and my husband for his Samsung smartphone that he was using. We were lucky to see a monk seal and 3 turtles, so we hit the jackpot! For the experience that you get, I'm actually quite surprised that the tours weren't considerably more expensive. Because of that thought, we tipped the guys decently, $40 for half day, $60 for full day, for my husband and me. They work hard and are 'on' with island info the whole time. Take into account their vans, employee wages, insurance, gas, van wifi service, hotel pickup, etc, and I can't see how they're able to make these tour prices work, but it sure is a treat! Several other tourgoers that were on our trips, were taking several tours through this company also (one took 4!), so I'd encourage you to do more than one if you can fit it into your schedule! Only downside was that another of the tourgoers had a drone that he flew at each location.... that mosquito-like buzzing got really old by the end of the day! That was no fault of Oahu Photography Tours though, and Gaelan (sp?) did his best to move drone-man along when we were having to wait for him, in a kind way. Great drivers! It was nice to just be able to look at the scenery without having to drive or be the copilot. We saw their competitors, Blue Hawaii photo tours, at several of the same stops, but it was evident that our guides definitely had a step up on the competition with their customer service. I called to book since we were doing more than one tour and wanted to do the payment all at once....Katie-I think - the booking assistant wasn't particularly warm or outgoing, but I'm not even docking a star for that since I had such a great time with the guys who were actually doing the tour, and I didn't have to deal with Katie for an extended period. Easiest Oahu activity to recommend, for sure!
