Unfortunately my experience was cancelled by the vendor. They said renovations were not completed. They gave me one days notice so it was too late to book a similar trip. I simply walked to the bridge last night and saw the bats for free. At this time of year it was not crowded at all so I recommend this option to everyone.

We traditionally give 48 hours notice, but our employee the day before was dealing with a family emergency. We'd be happy to talk with you further about your complaint and apologize for your negative experience.

Our group of adults, teens & a 9yo had a fun time navigating the kayaks on Lady Bird Lake. The distance was pretty short as we headed to Congress Ave Bridge where we waited with many other groups for bats to take flight. It was late September, so bats were apparently not as dense as summertime. I enjoyed waiting in the kayak rather than on the bridge to view, but, otherwise may have enjoyed just kayaking in the lake with the views of Austin.

Kayak trip at dusk with a gorgeous view of the Austin City scape. Tour guide was fun and patient with our group. Kayaks were tandem, sit on (not in). If we did it again we would bring a light (it was pretty dark in the way back and the kayaks don’t have lights). The tour is byo beverage (water and/or other)... most everyone in our group took the 5 minute walk to the convenience store before we took off. Also, there are no restrooms at the launch site so be sure to go before you get there.
