East Village Donut and Pastry Adventure and Walking Food Tour

Overview

Our East Village tour begins at one of New York’s donut institutions, Donut Pub. Donut Pub has been around for over 50 years and has some of the best donuts in New York City.

We’ll showcase some of their most famous flavors and you’ll get to sample many of them. From here, we’ll take a walk through the lovely neighborhoods, high rises, parks, and landmarks which dot East Village and make it one of New York’s most iconic neighborhoods.

At our next stop, we’ll try some classic Italian Bomboloni that you’ll swear came right from the old country. If you’ve never had bomboloni, you are in for a treat! From here, we’ll highlight some of the music history and icons in the surrounding neighborhood including CBGB and Bowery Electric one our way to our third stop.

Here, we’ll highlight their signature cardamom buns which were recently a viral sensation on TikTok. And last, but not least, we’ll end our tour with some incredible artisan donuts which rotate seasonally.

What To Expect

Astor Place

We'll talk about Astor Place and it's importance to the history of the neighborhood along with the surrounding buildings, theaters and sculptures in the area.

Bowery

We'll walk through Bowery street and talk about its importance to the East Village, along with the various musical theaters that used to grace the neighborhood (CBGB's and others).

Really fun walking tour experience through East Village. David Turk was our guide and he was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about history of the area, pointing out so many landmarks we wouldn't have thought twice about. We had a wonderful time touring around the East Village with Dave. The two hour tour was a great mix of tastings, history and conversation. Dave brings a great sense of community, enthusiasm, and pride to the East Village. We learned a great deal of not only the history but the day to day life of the area. The donut/Bomboloni/cardamom bun were delicious (skipping the line at La Cabra was also a plus) !!! I would highly recommend this personalized tour to anyone visiting NYC. This is the second UDT we’ve done, and loved it! Dave is a great tour guide and really brought the city to life with the history and stories of culture he shared. Would recommend an UDT to anyone! The guides are always great and you get some tasty dessert along the way.
