East Village Donut and Pastry Adventure and Walking Food Tour

Overview

Our East Village tour begins at one of New York’s donut institutions, Donut Pub. Donut Pub has been around for over 50 years and has some of the best donuts in New York City.

We’ll showcase some of their most famous flavors and you’ll get to sample many of them. From here, we’ll take a walk through the lovely neighborhoods, high rises, parks, and landmarks which dot East Village and make it one of New York’s most iconic neighborhoods.

At our next stop, we’ll try some classic Italian Bomboloni that you’ll swear came right from the old country. If you’ve never had bomboloni, you are in for a treat! From here, we’ll highlight some of the music history and icons in the surrounding neighborhood including CBGB and Bowery Electric one our way to our third stop.

Here, we’ll highlight their signature cardamom buns which were recently a viral sensation on TikTok. And last, but not least, we’ll end our tour with some incredible artisan donuts which rotate seasonally.

Astor Place

We'll talk about Astor Place and it's importance to the history of the neighborhood along with the surrounding buildings, theaters and sculptures in the area.

Bowery

We'll walk through Bowery street and talk about its importance to the East Village, along with the various musical theaters that used to grace the neighborhood (CBGB's and others).

Rob was great! We had a wonderful time enjoying donuts as he led a walking tour of the East Village. It was so much fun learning about many interesting details of the city. I recommend this for all. It was an easy walk with wonderful donuts and more. Rob is a great tour guide with many fascinating tidbits about the history of the area.

I thoroughly enjoyed this food tour! Heather was amazing with her knowledge of NYC and very responsive before we met up. I am a native NYer and it was great learning about my city and its history. I am 31 weeks pregnant and worried about the walk and bathroom breaks, but the walk was totally fine and she was sensitive to my needs for restroom breaks. The 15 year old I went with also enjoyed herself and she wants to go again! Highly recommend!

I went on this tour with my nieces, mostly because they were visiting NYC and they really wanted to go...it exceeded all expectations! Ari our guide was super knowledgeable on Lower East Side history from Basquiat's original studio to historic Jewish theatre district to a mosaic artist and the original Second Avenue Deli location- so much interesting history that this 15 year NYC resident had never known. The donuts were also incredible- a wonderful variety from traditional to exquisite. I highly recommend this tour for the learnings, the delectable delights, walking in an historic NYC neighborhood with so much to discover and experience and for the knowledgeable and friendly tour guide- top notch- book it now!
