The Glass Blowing demonstration was our favorite part of this Museum, I actually devoted a 1 /2 day of my trip to Corning Museum of Glass and I don't think I really needed it, my Grandmother was an avid collector of fine glass antiques and the interest has been passed down to me starting at a young age, I expected to be wow'ed and I wasn't, I thought I could see and learn more about vaseline, crackle, cranberry and bubble glass but instead there are big empty room devoted to NEW GLASS with no explanation or history. Just wasn't impressed.

Thanks for visiting and for leaving a review. We're sorry to hear that you weren't impressed. New Glass Now is a temporary exhibition that surveys the current landscape of contemporary glass. A description of the exhibition is described on some of the walls of the Contemporary Art + Design Galleries, but we understand if contemporary glass isn't what excites you. We have several other spaces dedicated to the history of the material and glassmaking. It sounds like you may have missed our 35 Centuries of Glass Galleries, which contains objects representing every country and historical period in which glassmaking has been practiced. As well, our campus also houses the Rakow Library, which is the foremost library on glassmaking and may have provided you with the historical information you were looking for through the help of our knowledgeable librarians. We hope you may reconsider visiting again to explore all that we have to offer on the history of glass.

Driving back from Niagara falls towards Boston, we made a slight detour to visit this Corning museum. Probide about 3 hours to get a good overview of how various forms of glass are made. There are libe demonstrations which are worth watching..history of glass is traced actoss different countries and centuries. It was educational as well as fascinating..
